Installer Crashes

Installing RIFT from the F2P download file (RIFT-Install-0-b3t5nr.exe) all the pre-requisites install fine but when the actual rift installer starts it asks to confirm installation path (c:\Program Files\RIFT) and after accepting this path the installer crashes with the following dump.

Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x006c0000 in 32-bit code (0x00420103).

I had the same issue and the work around for me was to open crossover and select the program Rift from within the list of options and start the install that way. For some reason it then launches all of the items (software) needed to run it on your computer. I suppose you could also try the crosstie option from Codeweavers site under Rift as well. After it's done downloading I will see if I can get it to actually run now!

Did it ever run? I'm having a similar problem where it crashes even before the RIFT install; it crashes when installing the fonts and there are similar messages about page fault on read access.
